Please see the statement below from Superintendent Dr. Lisa Lantrip regarding an executive order issued by Governor Eric Holcomb on Wednesday, July 22, 2020:
Today Governor Eric Holcomb issued an executive order requiring all faculty and students in grades 3-12 to wear a mask or face covering at school for the full school day. This is a change from the district’s blueprint for reentry plan shared with families earlier this month.
Based on the language in this executive order, our plan for students in grades preschool through 2 has not changed. Those students will still follow the same guidelines as published in our blueprint document.
We realize this executive order will create a change in expectations for some families. Due to this change, we are reopening the opportunity for families to choose between virtual and in-person instruction. Families may change their enrollment option until 6 p.m. on Friday, July 24. Due to the short time period for our administrators to make staffing changes, exceptions will not be made for missing the deadline.
After logging in to the Parent Portal, click on Forms on the left side of your screen. Then click the Enrollment tab. Under the enrollment tab, please complete Form H - Classroom Option. Please call your school during normal business hours if you have difficulty accessing your Parent Portal or the required form. This form is not required if you are not changing your student’s enrollment option.
The district is prepared to make adjustments to how our teachers instruct virtual students if significant changes to the virtual enrollment occur. Some teachers may become full-time virtual teachers if enrollment increases. We will provide more information about the virtual program’s changes once final enrollment numbers are determined.
